Why should you get to know Ptarmigan?

II am more a country boy than a townie, but go to London sometimes. I'm an intellectual dilettante, interested in history, politics, literature, the arts, phlosophy, ornithology and much else. Superficially, I appear conventional, but I'm keen on alternative therapies, personal development workshops etc. I love gardening, wildlife (which my excuse for my semi out of control garden), wild places and animals (specially dogs although I don't have one presently). I thrive on good conversation, and talking for hours about anything, and everything from the meaning of life to the latest gossip and scandal. My sense of humour tends to the dry rather than barrack-room type, but I love to be amused and like anarchic comedies like BlackAdder,Monty Python, Little Britain etc. I am keen to do more travelling to beautiful European cities as well as exploring lovely countryside and wilderness (I want to see wolves and bears in their natural habitat). Most importantly, I really adore the company of women - most of my friends are women - and if they are pretty and slim and sexy - all the better! I'm told I am amusing, have plenty of charm (in the right company!) and a nice voice, and I keep myself in reasonable physical shape with regular walking, gardening, running and visits to the gym (and would welcome encouragement to take up tennis and skiing again).

He describes his ideal match thus:

My IDEAL woman - what a question and what a hostage to fortune! But here we go: clever, charming, articulate, sensual, slim and beautiful - and with a cute bottom would be perfect! More seriously, as I get older kindness and gentleness as well as emotional awareness matter more and more: I'd like her to allow me to know her really well and at the same time try to understand my own complexities (hopefully better than I do myself). I’d like to meet someone who is both prepared to be supportive and is herself open to receiving support. We could share deep conversations, but also moments of frivolity and craziness - an ability not to take me too seriously (at least some of the time!) would be a big advantage. I would appreciate a woman with whom I could would go on long walks and explore wild places and ancient cities. There is so much to see and experience. Someone who would enjoy sparkling dinner party repartee , but also quiet evenings cuddling in front of a log fire. Looks (and voices) do matter to me (and don't tell me they don't to you!). I try to look after myself and would appreciate someone who does the same and is comfortable with her body. And, I almost forgot, she must be a dog lover - I am without one at the moment (my beloved Field spaniel is buried under a malus tree in my garden), but I would like another at some stage ..
